Our CORE Team
Aerial Designs has been building world-class challenge courses, ziplines and climbing towers for over 28 years. Through our engineering excellence and our passion for quality, innovation and safety, we have gained the reputation of making our clients' dreams come true by combining character with a strong visual appeal.
For almost 25 years, Valdo and his team have successfully completed aerial adventure parks and zipline tours all across North America and Canada. He received his degree from one of France's premier engineering schools, l'Ecole Centrale, and maintains the highest standards as an ACCT accredited professional vendor member.
Valdo successfully brings his vision, passion, craftsmanship, collaborative spirit and humor to all his endeavors. He loves creating designs that inspire outdoor exploration and helping businesses maximize their attendance by creating one-of-a-kind structures that leave guests wanting more.
For his own exciting challenges, Valdo counts on his family to keep him on his toes, while navigating traffic in the unmistakable style of a would-be French race car driver.

Niels joined the Challenge Course industry in 1998, when working for a YMCA camp. Since then, Niels has been (and currently is, in some capacities) a (lead) facilitator, trainer, inspector, manager and builder. In 2017, he received his Master’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management from Florida International University. At Aerial Designs, Niels does most of the trainings and some inspections. When not out in the field, Niels spends his time scrutinizing and updating Aerial Designs’ manuals. When not working for Aerial Designs, volunteering on the Accreditation and Certification Committee at ACCT, or as a lifeguard instructor, Niels spends his time with his family, or working on their house.
Will Nocka joined the Aerial Designs team in Fall of 2017 after working at a medical device company for several years. He grew up in Massachusetts, studied mechanical engineering in St. Louis, and recently migrated to the Pacific Northwest. His role is to work closely with Valdo in the design phase and then translate ideas onto paper so that they can be built.
Although new to the adventure industry, Will comes from a rock climbing background and enjoys working on the courses as much as designing them. In his free time Will can usually be found outdoors hiking and climbing, or road-tripping to meet up with friends and family.
Lance graduated from Youngstown State University in Ohio with a degree in English education. He taught school on the surface of the sun in Yuma, AZ before coming to his senses and moving to the PNW to follow his dream of herding cats professionally. Lance loves: burning old paperwork, developing tight and efficient processes, gaming of all types, technical writing and editing, reading, keeping the books, hiking, organizing all the things forever and LARPing.
Lance is a nerd.
Lance eats a steady diet of incorrectly filled out expense reports, raw tea leaves, irony, and Oxford commas.
